Hydraulic Brake Press Operator

We are an internationally renowned industrial steel fabricator and steel bending company. Established in 1974, in the Stoney Creek / Hamilton area serving the energy, resources, primary metals, marine, construction, architectural, and environmental industries.

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Hydraulic Brake Press Operator to work on afternoon shift at our 930 Arvin Stoney Creek location. The 10 hour afternoon shift is Monday to Thursday 4:00pm to 1:30am with opportunity for overtime. This is not a punch press or stamp press position. Initial training will take place on day shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – The successful candidate will:

  • Work in compliance with Kubes Steel Inc. Health & Safety policies and procedures in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its Regulations.
  • Set up and operation of Brake Presses to form steel products for our customers.
  • Accurately interpret and review work order requirements.
  • Change machine dies for specific jobs utilizing an overhead crane when required.
  • Keep work area clean through effective housekeeping.

Requirements:

  • Experience operating any of 400, 600, 1000, 2500 ton Brake Presses.
  • Trained in the safe use and handling of Brake Press equipment.
  • Experience in custom forming and layout of metal materials.
  • Possess mathematical skill required to calculate precise angle measurements.
  • Experience inputting requirements via computer at the Brake Press.
  • Possess overhead crane training or ability and willingness to be trained.
  • Experience reading specification drawings.
  • Experience working with acetylene torches and burn buggies.
  • Attention to detail and quality inspection of parts worked on.
  • High School education and Technical training preferred.
  • Steel-toed safety boots.

Salary: $26.00-$32.00 per hour

Hourly start rate is based on level of relevant brake press experience.
