2013.01.31 – Draft Tube Liners Moved into Position
These photos come courtesy of The International Brotherhood of Boiler Makers and show the assembled sections of the draft tube liners fabricated by Kubes Steel being moved into position. Each assembled section is 60 feet long and 30 feet in diameter. When completed, water from the Ohio River will rush through the penstocks going through turbines, turning generators and producing approximately 88 Megawatts of electricity. The project adjoins the existing Cannelton Locks and Dam in Kentucky.
